Nixon Peabody LLP has named Charles P. Jacobs, who has been a member of the firm's Management Committee and chair of its Business Department, as head of its Private Equity Team. Mr. Jacobs will split his time among the firm's offices in New York, Boston and San Francisco.

Mr. Jacobs is well-known in the private equity arena, having been involved in hundreds of investments over more than 15 years. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and serves as counsel for some of the country's leading venture capital and private equity firms as well as public pension funds and other institutional investors.

Nixon Peabody currently ranks sixth on Private Equity Analyst's list of law firms for its fund representation and 17th for the number of private equity and venture capital deals closed.

Consistent with Nixon Peabody's approach of having its attorneys across offices work as a team, the Private Equity Team will include attorneys from several other teams, including Venture & Technology, Mergers & Acquisitions, Tax, Intellectual Property, Labor and Employment and ERISA.
