King & Spalding announced today that labor and employment lawyer Sydney Jones Lampard has joined the firm as a partner on its Global Human Capital and Compliance (GHCC) team. Lampard is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Lampard advises private equity firms and public and private companies on labor and employment issues in complex transactions. She has extensive experience in the context of major M&A transactions, including conducting acquisition-related due diligence and risk assessment, drafting employment and restrictive covenant agreements, addressing union-related issues and negotiating employment agreements for transitioning management teams.
“Sydney is an impressive and dynamic lawyer who has extensive experience with the complex U.S. labor and employment issues arising in M&A transactions,” said Darren Gardner, head of the firm’s GHCC practice. “Sydney will be a great asset to our transactional practices and clients and fits perfectly into our GHCC team as we help our clients address their complex global workforce issues.”
Lampard joins King & Spalding from Kirkland & Ellis. She earned her B.A. from Duke University, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
“King & Spalding’s collaborative spirit and entrepreneurial culture make it a great place to grow my practice,” said Lampard. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with my new colleagues across the firm’s practices to guide clients through the labor and employment challenges they face in executing their critical transactions.”
