FTI Consulting, Inc. announces the appointment of William McCausland as a Managing Director in the Risk and Investigations practice within the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment.
Mr. McCausland, who is based in Washington, D.C., brings more than 25 years of experience in complex international investigations, intelligence and law enforcement. He will assist corporate and law firm clients in addressing allegations relating to corporate fraud and misconduct, money laundering, bribery and corruption, trade sanction violations, and other regulatory issues.
“Bill has a proven track record in establishing and leveraging strategic partnerships around the globe,” said Andrew Rosini, co-leader of the Risk and Investigations practice at FTI Consulting. “His experience leading large, multi-agency teams to proactively address threats will add value for our clients who are facing investigations, disputes and regulatory challenges.”
Mr. McCausland has managed sensitive investigations impacting the highest levels of government and the private sector. He has background developing internal audits, overseeing complex criminal investigations and intelligence strategies, and mitigating risks, including those posed by insider threats.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. McCausland served as chief of counterespionage at the CIA. He spent 25 years with the FBI, with expertise in Eurasian organized crime. He has led investigations into Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, mortgage-backed securities fraud, public corruption, money laundering, bank and tax fraud, among other matters.

The appointment of Mr. McCausland continues recent investment in the Risk and Investigations practice at FTI Consulting. In May, Gustavo Galizzi joined the practice in São Paulo to lead the Forensic and Litigation Consulting segment in Brazil and focus on complex investigations, disputes and regulatory matters. In January, Xochitl Arteaga joined as a managing director in Los Angeles and San Francisco, bringing expertise in conducting complex domestic and international corporate investigations in connection with securities and investor fraud, anti-corruption and bribery, discrimination, and various allegations of employee misconduct.
