FTI Consulting, Inc. announced the appointment of Todd Cohen and Derek Sappenfield as Managing Directors in the Office of the CFO Solutions practice within the firm’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment.
Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Cohen is a finance professional with over 30 years of experience advising organizations through change, developing strategic vision and leading global transformation and shared-service initiatives. He will work with clients on finance transformation, designing and implementing service delivery model transformations, automation and robotics implementations, and preparing finance organizations for possible transactions and initial public offerings.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Cohen was Principal of The Cohen Group, a sole-proprietor consulting and advisory firm formed to assist organizations with overcoming finance and operational challenges. Before starting his own firm, he spent over 20 years in the media and entertainment industry, serving in a variety of global roles, including Vice President, Global Finance Transformation at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and Vice President, Finance at Paramount Pictures Corporation. Previously, he was a Director at The Hackett Group as well as at Vivendi/Universal Studios. Mr. Cohen began his career in the Audit practice at KPMG.
Based in Washington, D.C., Mr. Sappenfield brings over 25 years of full lifecycle operating model transformation experience, including shared services, outsourcing, process and organization transformation, and intelligent automation. He is an expert in planning, designing and executing operating model transformations to create competitive advantage and shareholder value for clients in the technology, financial services, hospitality, communications and media, manufacturing, automotive and public sector industries.
Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Sappenfield held senior leadership roles at PwC and IBM, where he led teams focused on identifying and implementing opportunities for impactful service delivery redesign and automation to build optimal collaborative workforces. He spent two decades at Big Four firms in both the accounting and consulting practices, helping clients transform their back-office operations. He also has deep outsourcing provider and offshoring experience, having worked as an advisor to clients as well as for some of the world’s largest outsourcing providers.
