Mitratech’s AdvanceLaw, the data-driven outside counsel marketplace, is delighted to unveil its panel of law firms for 2024. Rigorously vetted for client service, quality, solutions orientation, effective DEI investments, and innovation, each panel law firm has been hand-selected using peer feedback, with three new firm additions for 2024 that are already delivering high-quality support to AdvanceLaw GCs.
Now in its 14th year, AdvanceLaw helps in-house counsel at over 350 member companies identify star lawyers at innovative, great value law firms that are highly motivated to excel for the client.
“Feedback on work is shared across our GC network, helping in-house counsel gain confidence in less-familiar candidates while providing a platform for top-performing outside lawyers to win more work if they impress member GCs,” explained Owen Bevan, AdvanceLaw’s Managing Director. “GCs come to us to find high-quality, practical advice from lawyers their peers trust. A design principle of AdvanceLaw is ensuring we represent a broad slice of legal market — the panel includes sophisticated AmLaw 100 firms, multinational firms, ‘next-generation’ national firms in the US, and top-quality regional and local firms, all offering AdvanceLaw clients great value. It’s my team’s job to help GCs find the ideal panel lawyer for their needs.”
The vetted panel firms collectively employ over 10,000 lawyers, giving the panel significant depth and the capability to address even the most sophisticated legal work for GCs. Most importantly, each firm is committed to providing AdvanceLaw member GCs with preferred service, including their top talent.
“AdvanceLaw has been an important part of our outside counsel strategy for over a decade,” said Mark Fischer, EVP & General Counsel, PVH. “The breadth of expertise, the quality of the work product, and the value for money of the firms with which we have worked has been excellent. We just partnered with AdvanceLaw to create our first Strategic Partner law firm panel and are excited to focus our work globally with the 14 best qualified, best value firms from amongst our incumbents and the AdvanceLaw panel.”
AdvanceLaw welcomes three new firms to the Panel for 2024:
- Baker Donelson: A 650-lawyer firm and leader in legal innovation, including proprietary project management programs, AI-assisted due diligence, contract analysis, and budget management tools.
- Clark Hill: A 700-lawyer firm that demonstrated a pervasive culture of thoughtful and responsive support, commitment to diversity, and solutions orientation throughout our vetting process.
- Pinsent Masons: An innovative multinational firm with more than 1700 lawyers operating as a single partnership across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
“We’re excited to have a platform that allows our work to be evaluated by AdvanceLaw GCs and to have the opportunity to show 350 member companies the creativity, cost-effectiveness, and practicality we can deliver,” said Jennifer Keller, President & Chief Operating Officer, Baker Donelson.
John Hensien, CEO at Clark Hill agreed, sharing, “Several current clients of the firm are AdvanceLaw members and recommended us for membership – I’m delighted that the feedback on the work we do for those clients will now be available to hundreds of other GCs.”
“We worked with AdvanceLaw on a client panel they manage and saw the value the team brought in developing more effective relationships between clients and firms,” added Andrew Masraf, Senior Partner at Pinsent Masons. “As a vetted member firm we’re excited for feedback on Pinsent Masons to be shared with a broader audience of legal departments.”
Baker Donelson, Clark Hill, and Pinsent Masons join returning panel firms Adams and Reese, Bird & Bird, Blank Rome, Crowell & Moring, Fredrikson & Byron, Holland & Knight, Husch Blackwell, and Thompson Hine to form AdvanceLaw’s core global panel, serving the majority of the AdvanceLaw membership’s legal needs.
Supplementing the core firms to provide high-quality specialized support in specific regions or practice areas are U.S. firms Butler Snow and Wyatt Tarrant & Combs, national Canadian firm McCarthy Tétrault, and leading Indian firm AZB & Partners. AdvanceLaw’s four Latin American firms, Aguilar Castillo Love (Central America, Ecuador, and Bolivia), EC Rubio (Mexico), Koury Lopes Advogados (Brazil) and Marval O’Farrell Mairal (Argentina) will continue the LATAM Desk support model launched in 2023, providing coordinated counseling for clients across Latin America through a single relationship partner.
