Mr. Piernot brings more than 12 years of experience in discovery, investigations and data protection to FTI Technology’s clients in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, also known as the DACH region.
Mr. Piernot advises clients as they navigate data-related risks and data privacy challenges during high-stakes internal, regulatory and legal investigations and litigation. He is an expert in applying cutting-edge technology to complex e-discovery and investigations engagements and works closely with clients to establish best practices for defensible fact-finding and compliant cross-border data transfers. Mr. Piernot advises on special investigations and merger control matters in the financial services, banking, retail, automotive, construction, real estate and manufacturing industries for clients in the DACH region and France.
“Clients in Germany are under pressure as regulators introduce new requirements and strengthen enforcement across corporate governance, data privacy, whistleblower response, supply chain diligence, antitrust, technology use and more,” said Renato Fazzone, Europe Leader of FTI Technology and country leader for the segment in Germany. “We are growing our team and capabilities to help clients respond to and proactively mitigate their risks in this environment. Dominic’s experience spans e-discovery, investigations and data privacy, so he’s uniquely suited to advise our clients across the spectrum of today’s critical issues.”
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Piernot was a Managing Director for a legal IT consulting firm. He has held consulting positions with numerous providers in IT, e-discovery and investigations. His prior work experience includes advising clients on legal holds, IT resilience and investigations into corruption, fraud, asset misappropriation and antitrust violations.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Piernot said, “FTI Technology’s leadership and the team in Germany have a strong reputation in our market and are widely recognised for their ability to provide global scale alongside local expertise. In joining this esteemed team, I’ll be focused on supporting clients in establishing strong data protection practices and compliant workflows for transferring data across borders during litigation and investigations.”
