Clifford Chance Welcomes 3 New Counsel Lawyers to Firm

Global law firm Clifford Chance announces the appointment of Miguel Barredo, Adrián Crespo and Eduardo Sánchez, experts in Corporate / M&A, Litigation and IP and Project Finance respectively, as Counsel in Spain from 1 May 2024. In total, Clifford Chance has appointed 4 Senior Counsel and 19 Counsel across Continental Europe.

Miguel Barredo has been a lawyer in the firm's Corporate / M&A practice since 2013. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the financial sector (banks, insurance companies and other regulated financial entities) as well as financial and insurance regulation. In particular, Miguel is playing a key role in the development of the firm’s insurance practice in Spain, both from a transactional (M&A, insurance portfolio transfers, insurance and reinsurance contracts, etc.) and a regulatory angle. He holds a Law Degree from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela with Honours and a LL.M. in Business Law from IE Law School.

Adrián Crespo is a lawyer who joined the firm's Litigation and Intellectual Property practice in Barcelona in 2011. Adrián focuses on complex intellectual property and unfair competition litigation, particularly in the field of pharmaceutical and biotechnology patents, being involved in several of Spain's landmark patent cases. He also represents clients in general commercial litigation, has significant experience in advertising law, and is a member of the Board of Appeal of the Community Plant Variety Office. He holds a Degree in Law and Political Science from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, as well as postgraduate studies in corporate and commercial law in Spain and the Netherlands, and a LL.M from the Centre d’Études Internationales de la Proprieté Intellectuelle in Strasbourg.

Eduardo Sánchez has been a lawyer in the firm's Projects practice since 2014. He specialises in project finance schemes in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including drafting and negotiating construction, operation and maintenance agreements, energy sale and purchase agreements and supply agreements, relating to projects in Spain and Latin America. He holds a Degree in Law and a Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master's Degree in International Trade from ICEX-CECO and a LL.M. in Law from IE Law School. He is an associate professor at IE Law School and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
