Clifford Chance advised U.S. chemical company Huntsman Corporation on the acquisition of Sasol's 50 percent stake in the former joint venture Sasol-Huntsman GmbH & Co. KG.
Huntsman Corporation is a publicly traded global manufacturer of differentiated and specialty chemicals with 2018 revenues more than USD 9 billion. The company operates more than 75 manufacturing, R&D and operations facilities in approximately 30 countries and employs approximately 10,000 associates globally.
Sasol-Huntsman is one of the leading suppliers of Maleic Anhydride (MAN) in Europe. The production site is in Germany in Moers on the left bank of the Niederrhein. Clifford Chance had already advised Huntsman on the formation of the joint venture in 1997.
