Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Atlantia, a global leader in the motorway and airport infrastructure sector, on entering into agreement with the Siemens Group for the acquisition of Yunex Traffic, a global leader in Intelligent Transport and Smart Mobility systems, at a price of €950m.
Signature of the agreement marks the conclusion of a bidding process launched by Siemens in recent months, and which has seen Atlantia beat off competition from a large number of international bidders. It is a strategic step in the process of delivering on Atlantia’s growth strategy, as existing motorway, airport and digital payment assets are expected to benefit from operating and business synergies. Yunex Traffic is indeed one of the world’s leading Intelligent Transport Systems providers, active in the field of Smart Cities and IoT.
The transaction was led by Atlantia's in-house legal team that included General Counsel Claudia Ricchetti and Head of Legal Affairs Investment Europe Marco Stocchi Grava.
Clifford Chance advised Atlantia with a multidisciplinary and cross-border team of Milan and Dusseldorf offices, led by partners Umberto Penco Salvi and Anselm Raddatz.
