It would seem that another product of the AI generation we live in is a new defense strategy, "It wasn't me! It was a deep fake!" As I read the title, I thought this was very novel, but didn't see how it could be used as an argument to not testify. Apparently Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Evette Pennypacker was thinking along similar lines, "Mr. Musk was either at these places or he was not; he either said these things or he did not. Ironically, Tesla's refusal to answer these questions only makes a clearer record that Mr. Musk is the only person that has this information to respond to this discovery, one of the pre-requisites to permitting an Apex deposition." Is a digital doppelganger possible? Yes and not just for the ultra famous either. I have no fame like Elon, but there are enough video and audio recordings of legal tech presentations I have given that it could be done.
