Leading Law Departments: 10 Things and More

Sterling MIller's blog, "10 Things You Need to Know As In-House Counsel," is always entertaining. That's especially true of his year-end "best blogs" edition, which also wraps in what he calls "non-traditional bloggers" (podcasts and LinkedIn writers).

This year, he extends his reach even further, offering a "Top Ten All-Time Hall of Fame" of legal blogs on his 2021 10 Things list. "Sometimes," he explains, "you just have to reward the wonderfulness of sticking around (right, Boomer?). . . . I have been promising to do this for a while and it’s time to get around to it damn it," he continues. "If you have followed the blog for a while, you know that I do not repeat 'winners' from past best blogs lists. I keep trying to find new ones to share. But, that doesn’t mean that I lack for favorites, i.e., blogs that I come back to again and again and again. Here are my top ten “Hall of Fame” selections from past blog lists. These are all worth your time to check out."

The list includes "Contract Nerds" by Nada Alnajafi and a host of contributors; "Advertising Law Blog" from Frankfurt Kurnit; "RIPS Law Librarian Blog"; and, at #10, Miller's "Hall of Fame," which is his list of blogs that keep him coming back again and again and again. Among others, you'll find "The Lawyerist," "Attorney at Work, and, from Corporate Counsel Business Journal (an affiliate of PinHawk, there is "In-House Ops," which, according to Miller, "focuses on legal operations – one of the hottest topics for in-house legal departments. The blog covers legal department administration, career development, procurement of legal services, and legal technology for in-house departments. This is a must-read blog for in-house lawyers."
