Megan Belcher, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, The Scoular Company

Megan leads the company’s legal, as well as its brand marketing and communication teams. Belcher joins Scoular from the Am Law 100 firm Husch Blackwell where she most recently served as a partner in the firm’s Food & Agribusiness industry team in its Kansas City office. Prior to working for Husch Blackwell, Belcher spent nine years as a law department leader for ConAgra Foods, most recently as Vice President and Chief Counsel, Employment and Compliance. She has received national recognition for her employment, labor, and compliance-focused legal work, as well as her law department and industry leadership skills. Megan founded and leads Drinks Among Friends, an initiative focused on providing development resources to women lawyers, with the overarching goal of empowering women in their legal practices, in their roles as business women, and in their aspirations to lead. Megan is an honors graduate of the University of Missouri and Boston College Law School, and holds a Master Certificate in Human Resource Studies from Cornell University. 

Chelsea Grayson, Former CEO, American Apparel

Chelsea was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of American Apparel, a role to which she was appointed in 2016 after having served as the company’s General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer & Executive Vice President. 

Prior to joining American Apparel, she spent 16 years in private practice as a corporate attorney with the law firms of Jones Day and Loeb & Loeb LLP, where she was a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions groups of both firms, focusing on healthy and distressed domestic and cross-border M&A, as well as corporate governance. 

While in private practice, Ms. Grayson chaired the Jones Day Los Angeles Corporate Group and co-chaired the Jones Day California Future Markets Task Force. She also chaired the Jones Day Los Angeles New Lawyers Group, in connection with which, among other things, she actively mentored, and developed a formal training program for, young lawyers. Ms. Grayson also sat on the Board of the Legal Division of the American Jewish Federation.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Grayson served a federal judicial clerkship for The Honorable Samuel L. Bufford, in the United States Bankruptcy Court Central District (Central District of California). She also served a paid internship at Public Counsel, the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world, in the Homelessness Prevention Law section.

Ms. Grayson is the recipient of an In-House Impact Award from The Recorder (The American Lawyer), she is the recipient of the 40 Under 40 Recognition Aware from the M&A Advisor (2011), she was named one of “L.A.’s Top 40 Dealmakers” in the Los Angeles Business Journal “Who’s Who in L.A. Law” (2011) and she is named in “The Legal 500 US in M&A: Middle Market”. 

Ms. Grayson’s most recent speaking engagements include giving the keynote address at Loyola Law School’s 2016 Fashion Law Symposium and sitting on the “Building an Ethical Corporate Culture” panel at the May 2016 NACD “The Effective General Counsel in the Boardroom” conference.

Marcy S. Cohen, General Counsel & Head of Regulatory Affairs, ING Americas, ING Group

Marcy is Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer for the Americas for ING Group’s structured finance, commercial banking and financial markets businesses in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. ING Group is a global financial institution based in the Netherlands with shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange and as of December 31, 2012, had total consolidated assets of approximately EUR 1.2 trillion.

Ms. Cohen serves as a member of the ING Americas Regional Management Team responsible for ING Bank’s strategic direction and management throughout North and South America. She also serves as a member of the Americas Operational Risk and Compliance Committees. She regularly conducts risk assessments for each of the firm’s major business lines and develops mitigation measures to best manage the identified risks. Internal audit reports to her in connection with special investigations and audits.

Miriam Frank is a Partner, Vice President and Leader of the Legal Talent Management Consulting practice at Major, Lindsey & Africa, the world’s largest and most experienced legal search and consulting company. She brings more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer, executive search consultant and senior executive, manager and leader to her coaching and consulting. Miriam is certified by and is a member of the International Coach Federation, Board Certified (by the Center for Credentialing and Education) and holds the credential of Advanced Certified Personal and Executive Coach.
