Wyrick Robbins launches diversity scholarship initiative

Wyrick Robbins announces the launch of a new scholarship for law students intended to complement the firm’s robust diversity and inclusion initiatives. The firm recognizes that people are its greatest resource, and seeks to recruit, retain and promote a diverse group of talented attorneys. Supporting law students from underrepresented groups at the outset of their legal careers is an extension of the firm’s commitment to building a diverse workplace and legal profession.

“Our firm is proud of this scholarship initiative. We believe it can create additional pathways into the legal profession for students and help us foster a more diverse workplace so we can continue to build top-quality legal teams with varied experiences for our clients,” said the firm’s Managing Partner, Jimmy Yates.

The Wyrick Robbins Diversity Scholarship is open to first year, diverse law students. It includes a paid summer clerkship with the firm as part of the 2020 summer associate program. The recipient also is eligible for a $10,000 scholarship. In addition to receiving practical, hands-on experience and financial support, the recipient will be paired with an attorney mentor from the firm during their law school career and be eligible for a potential in-house client rotation opportunity during their summer clerkship.

Applications will be considered based on a variety of factors, including academic and professional credentials and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. More information on the scholarship and how to apply can be found on the Wyrick Robbins Diversity Scholarship page of our website or wyrick.com/diversity-scholarship. The application deadline is February 28, 2020.
