WESFACCA's October CLE Calendar



WESFACCA, the Westchester/ Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America, this month is planning a variety of CLE seminars on issues covering departmental management as well as areas of substantive law.

On Thursday, October 7, the chapter will present Preventing Preferences: A Bankruptcy Primer from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at the Woodway Country Club, Darien, CT.

Attendees will learn how sophisticated corporate counsel help clients defend and defeat preference claims, how lawyers in the trenches assist clients in taking a proactive position, and fatal flaws that will guarantee a recovery for the bankruptcy estate. Speakers will be Steve Gross and Chris Major, Robinson & Cole, and Carlo Massaro and Michael Bevilacqua, Pepsi Bottling Group.

On Thursday, October 14, WESFACCA is offering D&O Market & Significant Issues from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at the WESFACCA Conference Center, 970 Summer Street, Stamford, CT.

Speakers Fred Podolsky and Susanne Murray of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs will cover securities claims trends, contract recission and severability, and a review of significant recent case decisions such as Adelphia, Disney and Cutter & Buck .

On Thursday, October 21, the chapter has planned Monitoring the Use of Office Technology from 9 to 11 a.m. at the WESFACCA Conference center, with Kenneth N. Rashbaum, Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold LLP as speaker.

On Tuesday, October 26, WESFACCA will present HIPAA: Compliance With Portability from 9 to 11 a.m. at the WESFACCA Conference Center.

Speakers will be George Kasper, Pullman & Comley, and Sarena Straus, general counsel, MDx Medical Management. They will examine special enrollment and nondiscrimination requirements, recent HIPAA compliance developments, and satisfying the rules regarding privacy, security and standardized exchange of health data.

On Thursday, October 28, the chapter has scheduled a session titled Alternative Fee Arrangements from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Woodway Country Club, with Mark Sussman, Murtha Cullina, and Jim Michalowicz, Tyco, as speakers.
