Weil Secures Dismissal of Stockholder Class Action in Delaware Chancery Court Challenging Willis/Towers Watson Merger

On July 25, 2019 Weil won a motion to dismiss all claims in a stockholder class action filed in Delaware Chancery Court arising out of the 2016 $18B “merger of equals” between Willis Group and Towers Watson – one of several cases Weil has been defending for Willis Towers Watson in connection with this transaction.

This victory follows on the heels of a prior win Weil achieved for Willis in July 2018 in a putative federal securities class action in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia that also relates to the transaction. To read more about that victory, please click here.

The Weil team was led by John Neuwirth, Co-Head of Weil’s Securities Litigation practice, and included partner Josh Amsel and associates Matthew Connors, Amanda Pooler, and Sean Moloney. Brad Aronstam of Ross Aronstam & Moritz served as Delaware counsel.
