International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Chantale Fiebig and Jeff White have been appointed Co-Managing Partners of the Washington, D.C. office, effective January 1, 2023. They succeed Steven Tyrrell, who has led the office to impressive growth over the past decade and will continue in his role as Co-Head of Weil’s White Collar Defense, Regulatory and Investigations practice.
“We congratulate Steve for his many years of outstanding service as the managing partner of our D.C. office,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “The office has thrived under his leadership by welcoming strategic lateral hires, building out new practice areas and strengthening cross-practice integration. We are delighted that Chantale and Jeff have agreed to take the helm in Washington during this exciting time of continued growth and expansion.”
A partner in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice, Chantale is a nationally recognized trial lawyer and crisis counselor. She represents global companies in commercial business disputes and class actions in state and federal court. Jeff, a partner in Weil’s global Antitrust/Competition practice, advises on all aspects of antitrust law, including guiding companies through the merger review process in global M&A transactions, government investigations, and private litigation.
The Firm has also appointed new leaders across Weil’s global Antitrust/Competition practice, effective January 1, 2023. In Washington, D.C., partners Brianne Kucerik, Michael Moiseyev, and Jeffrey Perry have been named Co-Heads of the U.S. practice. Partner Steven Newborn is now Chair of Weil’s global Antitrust/Competition practice, based in Washington, D.C.
These changes build on recent strategic expansion and leadership appointments in the Firm’s D.C. office. Earlier in 2022, Weil welcomed Mark A. Perry in D.C. as Co-Head of the Firm’s Appeals and Strategic Counseling practice alongside partners Zack Tripp (D.C.) and Gregory Silbert (NY). Weil’s growth in litigation was also bolstered by the recent addition of partner Andrew (“Drew”) Tulumello in Washington, D.C., who joined the Firm as Co-Head of the Complex Commercial Litigation practice.
“Weil’s Washington office is exceptional,” said Chantale. “We have incredibly high-caliber lawyers who have successfully represented our clients on an impressive range of issues, including in multiple federal court trials, merger reviews before the federal regulatory agencies, and in the U.S. Supreme Court, all in just the last few months. Jeff and I are thrilled to lead the D.C. office going forward, as we continue to cement Weil’s position as a premier firm in Washington.”
“The increasing strength of the D.C. team stems from the synergies across our practice groups and by finding new ways of working together,” Jeff added. “We continue to apply a ‘one-Firm’ strategy to our work and client relationships, which has expanded opportunities for different practices to counsel on both the transactional and litigation aspects of many recent, high-profile client matters. Our focus on active collaboration is also reflected in our inclusive approach to our people: Weil is committed to being a market leader in attracting and promoting diverse talent at all levels and practices.”
