Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Daniel R.B. Nicholas has joined the Firm as a partner. He is part of Weil’s global Tax practice and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Mr. Nicholas joins Weil from Eversheds Sutherland, where he was a Tax partner. In his practice he covers worldwide finance, capital markets and derivatives transactions. His areas of focus include debt instruments (such as debt modifications and restructurings, interest deductibility, tax fungibility and withholding), asset based financing transactions (such as securitizations and receivable based borrowing), and derivatives (such as convertible debt and prepaid forward contracts). His practice also emphasizes international tax planning and transactions and the taxation of financial products.
