Weil adds banking & finance partner Eliot Relles in New York

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announces that Eliot Relles has joined the Firm as a partner. He is part of Weil’s global Banking & Finance practice and is based in the Firm’s New York office.

“Eliot will be a terrific addition to Weil’s market-leading global Banking & Finance practice,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “We are very excited to welcome him to the Firm.”

Michael Aiello, Chairman of the Corporate Department, commented: “Eliot has deep experience and is highly regarded in the financing sector. In particular, his work advising lender-side clients will be a strong strategic fit for Weil’s growing direct lending practice.”

Mr. Relles joins Weil from Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where he was a partner for the past 17 years in, and most recently the co-head of, the firm’s Finance group. He represents a handful of the prominent direct private lenders and alternative lenders providing financing solutions to middle market companies. His practice focuses on a variety of complex corporate finance transactions, including acquisition financing, leveraged lending, structured financial arrangements, asset-based lending, work-outs, restructurings of troubled companies and debtor-in-possession loans.

“I am excited to join Weil and be part of its team of talented Banking & Finance lawyers,” Mr. Relles commented. “In particular, I look forward to leveraging Weil’s preeminent global capabilities to continue expanding the group’s direct lending platform.”
