University Of Texas Schedules Securities Law Conference In Dallas

The University of Texas School of Law will hold its annual Conference on Securities Regulation and Business Law on Thursday and Friday, February 11 & 12, at the Belo Mansion in Dallas.

The conference begins with a panel discussion titled Unregistered Offerings and Unregistered Brokers/Dealers, followed by SEC Developments and Preparing for the 2010 Annual Meeting: Developments Involving Shareholder Access and Proxy Statement Disclosure; the Ethics of Negotiation: Are There Any?; and A Business Lawyer's Guide to Distressed M&A.

On Friday afternoon, Rose Linda Romero of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will moderate a discussion titled Developments, Trends, and Expectations in Securities Fraud Investigations and Prosecutions, which will be followed by Securities Litigation: Ponzi Schemes and Scams from Madoff to Stanford and an Introductory guide to FINRA arbitration.

Other speakers include Brian V. Breheny, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, John Kenneth Menges Jr., Akin Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld and Hon. Myron T. Steele, the Supreme Court of Delaware.
