Two Locations Chosen For Texas Bar Minority Attorney Program

The State Bar of Texas will host the Texas Minority Attorney Program this spring in San Antonio and in Houston.

The San Antonio program will be held Friday, April 1, and the Houston program will be held Friday, May 6.

The Houston program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the South Texas College of Law, Garrett-Townes Auditorium, 1303 San Jacinto Street in Houston. Lunch is included in the registration fee as are CLE and ethics credits and an opportunity to learn how to enhance client services.

Among the topics are the dos and don'ts of advertising your practice, avoiding a grievance, and a judges' panel. The pros and cons of social media will be discussed by Aparna Dave, Wells Fargo; Amanda Ellis, Amanda Ellis Legal Search; and Gene Major, director of advertising for the State Bar of Texas. Eartha Jean Johnson of LegalWATCH will be among the speakers discussing Alternative Careers: Leveraging Your Law Degree, and Jacob M. Monty of Monty Partners, LLP, will address the legal needs of the minority business.
