Trademark Lawyer Alan S. Cooper Joins Wiley Rein's Intellectual Property Practice

Wiley Rein LLP is pleased to announce the addition of veteran trademark lawyer Alan S. Cooper as of counsel in its Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Cooper specializes in trademark, unfair competition law, trademark anti-counterfeiting enforcement and related litigation. Mr. Cooper has more than 25 years of experience representing owners of commercially important marks, including Lexus, Brinks, Toyota, AutoZone, Toshiba, Nike, Goodyear and Godiva.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Cooper has acted as lead counsel in numerous trademark infringement, trademark dilution, trade dress infringement and false advertising actions in federal courts across the country and in inter partes registration proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also has successfully prosecuted more than 30 civil actions involving the seizure of counterfeit products in diverse commercial areas. His work in this arena further expands the scope of Wiley Rein's growing Trademark Practice.

Wiley Rein Insurance partner Kimberly M. Melvin has been named a "Rising Star" by Law360, her "shining reputation in the field" making her one of "five insurance lawyers under 40 to watch." The accolade recognizes Ms. Melvin's "unique expertise at the nexus of insurance and bankruptcy law" and experience leading "some of the world's biggest insurers through complex professional liability coverage battles."
