Tips On Improving Courtroom Presentation Skills

The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) is planning a CLE seminar titled The Lawyer's Winning Edge: Exceptional Courtroom Performance in two locations.

The program will take place on Tuesday, November 13 at the Forum Conference Center, East Ninth and St. Clair streets, Cleveland, and on Wednesday, November 14 at the OSBA headquarters, 1700 Lake Shore Drive, Columbus, OH. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The course provides lawyers with practical skills that embrace every aspect of their courtroom presentations and includes movie clips and live demonstrations to illustrate the techniques discussed. Specific discussion topics include: How Your Physical Presence Affects Your Legal Arguments; Controlling the Visual Focus in the Room; Your Credibility Is at Stake - Building and Maintaining Your Credibility, and From a Powerful Opening Statement Through a Compelling Closing Argument: Your Legal and Factual Arguments Set the Theme, Your Client's Story Persuades the Jury.

Speakers are Lisa DeCaro and Leonard Matheo, founders of Courtroom Performance, Inc.
