Thomas S. Williamson Will Be DC Bar President

Thomas S. Williamson, Jr., a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, has been elected president-elect of the DC Bar for the 2011-2012 term. Mr. Williamson assumed office in June. He will serve in that post for one year before becoming president and will continue in office a third year as immediate past president. On Mr. Williamson's installation, incumbent President-elect Darrell G. Mottley will become president of the DC Bar. Mottley is a principal shareholder at Banner & Witcoff, Ltd.

Also elected for one-year terms were, as secretary, Marianela Peralta of Hilton Worldwide and, as treasurer, Jeffrey S. Gutman of The George Washington University Law School.

Elected for three-year terms on the Bar's Board of Governors were Brigida Benitez, chief of the Office of Institutional Integrity at Inter-American Development Bank; Amy L. Bess, a shareholder at Vedder Price P.C.; Andrea C. Ferster of the Law Offices of Andrea Ferster; Glenn F. Ivey, a partner at Venable LLP; and Annamaria Steward, associate dean of students at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law.
