The Ethics Of Inadvertent Disclosure Topic Of MCLE Program

For one hour from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, the MCLE will present The Ethics of Inadventent Disclosure at its headquarters, 10 Winter Place in Boston. It also will be webcast simultaneously.

Two Day Pitney LLP partners, J. Charles Mokriski and Jillian B. Hirsch, will present the program during which they will explain the Massachusetts rules, ethics opinions, and case law governing inadvertent disclosure of confidential material; as well as what steps practitioners must, should, and can take when they are the recipients of inadvertently disclosed confidential material. They will also explore where the law has been trending in this area and what important developments, nationally or in leading jurisdictions, might provide a clue as to how courts will handle future disputes addressing these issues; and ways in which changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Evidence could make obsolete the existing "errant fax" jurisprudence.
