Texas Bar To ExploreWorkers' Compensation Issues

The State Bar of Texas will offer an Advanced Workers' Compensation course on Thursday and Friday, August 19 and 20, at the Radisson Hotel & Suites Town Lake, 111 E. Cesar Chavez in Austin.

It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. on Friday.

Highlights of the course include a Worker's Compensation Commissioner Update with Rod Bordelon, Jr., commissioner, Division of Workers' Compensation, the Texas Department of Insurance; the Ongoing Battle over Causation & Extent with Norman W. Darwin, public counsel, Office of Injured Employee Counsel and Darryl J. Silvera, The Silvera Law Firm; and Bad Faith: Case Law Update with Steven M. Tipton, Flahive Ogden & Latson and Wm. Randell Johnson, Law Office of Wm. Randell Johnson.

A Hearing Officer Discussion Panel is scheduled for Thursday and a Nuts & Bolts panel and an MDR Update Panel are scheduled for Friday.
