Texas Bar Schedules Annual Administrative Law Course

The State Bar of Texas has scheduled its 20th annual Advanced Administrative Law Course for Thursday and Friday, September 18 and 19, at the Austin Convention Center in Austin.

The CLE sessions begin on day one with welcoming remarks at 8:45 and the program at 9 a.m.Morning sessions include a case law update, informal settlements at regulatory agencies, and an overview of rulemaking in Texas.The lunchtime presentation is titled State Officers and Employees Gifts and Honorariums: To Accept, Give, or Not?withHenry De La Garza, Office of the Attorney General, presenting.

Afternoon session includes the electronic presentation of evidence in administrative law; the nuts and bolts of state procurement contract appeals, protests, and objections; and Texas medical licensing boards and the use of forensic evaluations.It adjourns at 5 p.m.

On Friday the program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 3:45 p.m.Topics willinclude the Do's and Don'ts for Testifying Before the Texas Legislature; the Open Meetings Act - Adequate Notice, Quorums, and Votes,Administrative Appeals, and a judges panel.
