Texas Bar Offers Patent Litigation Course In July

On Thursday and Friday, July 29 and 30, the State Bar of Texas has scheduled its annual Advanced Patent Litigation Course: Taking Patent Cases to Trial.

It will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio.

Course highlights include a federal panel with judges from all districts invited; an in-house counsel panel on effectively managing litigation; ethical issues in joint representation; and a free golf tournament on Thursday at the end of the day's CLE program. A Plaintiff and Defense Counsel: Doing More with Less Money; an in-house counsel panel - Effectively Managing Litigation, and a discussion about Markman hearings - strategies form both sides - are also included.

Thursday's luncheon speaker, Jeff A. Lamken of Molo Lamken, will offer IP Considerations from a Supreme Court insider, and Friday's luncheon presenters, Alan D. Albright, Bracewell & Guiliani; Hon. Keith F. Giblin, magistrate judge, U.S. District Court, Eastern District Of Texas; and Steven M. Zager, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP will talk about the use of experts at trial.
