Texas Bar Explores Financial Institution Issues

On Thursday and Friday, February 25 and 26, the State Bar of Texas will present Suing, Defending, and Negotiating with Financial Institutions in Dallas at the Hilton Dallas Park Cities Hotel.

The program will begin at 9 a.m.both days and adjourn at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday and at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Course highlights include Deposit Account Liability; Arbitration: What's Left?; Credit Reporting; Lender Liability: Lessons Learned; Congressional & Regulatory Update; Residential Loan Modification;and Negotiating Workouts: Lender and Borrower Perspectives.

J. Scott Sheehan of Greenberg Traurig will present a recent case update, Robert W. Doggett of the Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid Inc. will discuss Ten Things I Wish Creditor Lawyers Knew, and Karen M. Neeley of Cox Smith Matthews will offer the lunch presentation, Congressional and Regulatory Update.

On Thursday, Hon. Richard S. Schmidt of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Texas will present Financial Institution Stories from the Bench - You've Lost that Lending Feeling. Segments about bankruptcy, foreclosure changes: rules 736, and data security will end the course.
