Womble Bond Dickinson is pleased to announce leadership changes that took effect on January 1, 2024. The Firm appointed new Practice Group Leaders of its Business Litigation and Capital Markets groups and new Office Managing Partners (OMP) in Baltimore and Washington, DC. The Firm also created a new OMP position across its Nashville and Huntsville, Alabama, offices.

Taber Cathcart has been named Practice Group Leader of the Firm’s Capital Markets Group. She also serves as Co-Leader of the Firm’s Financial Services Sector. Based in Charlotte, Cathcart focuses her practice on diversified financial transactions, concentrating on senior and subordinated debt transactions, including acquisition finance, real estate lending, and syndicated credit facilities.
Newt Fowler has been named Office Managing Partner in Baltimore. He has extensive experience representing companies and investors in transactional, corporate, and securities matters and is consistently recognized as a leading transactional lawyer in Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.
Cathy Hinger has been named Office Managing Partner in Washington, DC. Her practice is focused on litigation, representing companies faced with complex business disputes in state, federal and appellate courts, as well as in government investigations. Hinger also serves on the Firm’s Professionalism Committee and chairs the Women of Womble (WOW) affinity group.
Josh Mullen has been named Office Managing Partner in Nashville and Huntsville, Alabama. He focuses his practice on government contracts and business litigation and assists various government contractors with litigation and general counseling in all aspects of procurement law.
Lisa Rushton has been named Practice Group Leader of the Firm’s Business Litigation Group. Based in Raleigh, she also serves as Co-Head of the Energy and Natural Resources Sector and Head of the Renewable Energy Subsector. Her practice focuses on guiding corporate clients on matters relating to environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of the appointment of Merrick Benn to the Firm’s Global Board. Benn recently completed successful terms as a member of the Firm Management Committee, Vice Chair of the Executive Committee, and Capital Markets Practice Group Leader.
