Stephen B. Reynolds has joined Day Pitney as a partner in the firm's Government Enforcement and White Collar Criminal Defense practice. Most recently, he served as the Chief Compliance Officer for Federal Programs for The CIGNA Group, a Fortune 15 health services company. Previously, Reynolds served with distinction for 16 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of Connecticut and the Department of Justice. He is based in the firm's Stamford office.

Reynolds has deep federal prosecutorial and investigative experience, held senior in-house positions, and understands the cross-section of cybersecurity and health care. While in government service, he was appointed a Deputy Chief for Cybersecurity in the National Security Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC, where he advised on deterring malicious cyber activity and minimizing cyber risk. He also served as the Deputy Chief of National Security and Major Crimes Unit for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut. At CIGNA, Reynolds oversaw compliance with federal healthcare program requirements, including with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

During his tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney, Reynolds was recognized with, among others, an Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service in 2011, an Assistant Attorney General's Award for Exceptional Service in 2012, and a Director's Award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2016. He co-chaired the Connecticut Bar Association's Federal Bench-Bar Conference and their Cybersecurity and Technology Committee. Reynolds was also a member of the Federal Grievance Committee for the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Earlier in his career, Reynolds was a litigation associate in the firm's Hartford office. He left the firm to clerk for Judge Stefan Underhill in the U.S. District Court in Connecticut. He also clerked for Senior U.S. District Judge Alan Nevas in the District of Connecticut. Reynolds earned his B.A. from Hamilton College and his J.D. from Cornell Law School. He is admitted in Connecticut and New York.
