State Bar Of Texas Offers Advanced Tax Law

The State Bar of Texas has scheduled a live Advanced Tax Law course for Thursday and Friday, August 26 and 27, in Dallas.

Participants may come a day early and attend Tax Law 101 on Wednesday, August 25.

Both will be held at the Westin Galleria, 13340 Dallas Parkway. Tax Law 101 will run from 12:55 to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, and the advanced course will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, followed by ethics for CPAs 2010 from 5:00 to 9:15 p.m. On Friday, the course will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Among the topics that will be discussed are Hot IRS Topics, Employment Tax Audits - National Research Program, and Partnership and LLC Drafting Errors That Are Likely to Make You a Malpractice Target.

On Thursday, Ira B. Shepard of the University of Texas School of Law will offer a federal tax update, and Daniel J. Micciche of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Dallas will offer the luncheon presentation - Tax Issues Every Tax Lawyer Needs to Know and Understand.

On Friday, Cindy Ohlenforst, K & L Gates LLP, will offer a Texas State Tax Update, and Michael W. Eaton of the Eaton Law Firm will offer the luncheon presentation, Practicing Law and Wellness: Modern Strategies for Lawyers Dealing with Anxiety, Addiction and Depression.
