State Bar Of Texas CourseWill Examine In-House Issues

The Business Law and Corporate Counsel sections of the State Bar of Texas will present their 6th Annual Advanced In-House Counsel Course.

The program will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17 at the Westin La Cantera Resort, 16641 La Cantera Parkway, San Antonio, TX.

Discussions will focus on issues such as: Trends in In-House Practice; How to Avoid Risky In-House Positions; Practical Tips to Reduce Outside Counsel Expenses; Managing an In-House Legal Department for Leadership; Lessons Learned From Recent Corporate Scandals, and Backdating Stock Options and Enforcement Actions.

The course director is Cullen M. (Mike) Godfrey, general counsel, Texas A&M University. Among the speakers are Susan Hackett, general counsel, ACC; R. Doak Bishop, King & Spalding LLP; Patrick K. Tagtow, senior legal counsel, BMC Software Inc, and Scott Wiegand, associate general counsel, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.
