State Bar Of Arizona Plans Minority Bar Convention

The State Bar of Arizona this month is sponsoring the state's 2007 Minority Bar Convention.

The conference will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31 at the Black Canyon Conference Center, 9440 North 25th Avenue, Phoenix. Sessions run from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Among the panels will be: Lawyers as Community Leaders; Leasing and Economic Development in Indian Country; Using Cultural Competency to Improve Service in the Justice System; The Nuts and Bolts of Commercial Land Acquisition; Breaking the Barriers: The Bottom Line Benefits of Diversity, and Beyond Tolerance: Developments and the Next Steps in Diversity Education and Dealing With Difficult Cases of Mis-information.

Among the speakers will be Veronika Fabian, Fabian and Choi; Phyllis Roestenberg, Community Legal Services; Christina Cabanillas, U.S. attorney, and Terri R. Soares, senior counsel, Johnson & Johnson.
