State Bar Of Arizona Plans 2008 Minority Bar Convention

The State Bar of Arizona will present its 2008 Minority Bar Convention, under the theme The Secret of Our Success, on Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19.

The event will take place at the Black Canyon Conference Center, 9440 North 25th Avenue, Phoenix, with sessions running from 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The convention provides a forum in which the legal community can address the issues that confront diverse attorneys, celebrate the success of minorities in the legal arena and encourage diverse attorneys as they pursue their legal careers in Arizona.

Among the CLE breakout sessions scheduled over the two-day period are: A New Generation of Educational Issues; Secrets of Special Actions; 2008 Chris Nakamura Judicial Workshop; The Border War; Getting the Job: Overcoming Hiring Hurdles, and Ethical Jeopardy.

Among the speakers are: the Hon. Michael D. Ryan, justice, Arizona Supreme Court; the Hon. George N. Foster, Maricopa County Superior Court; Christina M. Cabanillas, U.S. attorney for Arizona, and the Hon. Glenda E. Edmonds, U.S. District Court for Arizona.
