Society Of Corporate SecretariesPlans 61st Annual Conference

The Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals has scheduled its 61st National Conference for Wednesday-Saturday, June 27-30.

The event will take place at the Broadmoor, 1 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on the first day, 8:45 a.m.-5:45 p.m. on the second day, 8:45 a.m.-5:15 p.m. on the third day, and from 8:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on the fourth day.

Wednesday will include a pair of pre-conference panels. They include Managing Your Career, featuring S. Gary Snodgrass, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, Excelon Corporations, and The Meaning and Practice of Ethics, featuring Stephen L. Pepper, professor of law, University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

The opening day panels will focus on the theme Behind the Headlines - Lessons Learned From Corporate Scandals. Sessions include What the Prosecutors Found and How Effective Are the Governance Reforms and What More Should Be Done?

The overall theme will be reflected in sessions such as: New Risks and Liabilities: What Keeps You Up at Night?; the 20-06 Proxy "Year" - War or Peace?; Privacy Laws - What the Corporate Secretary Needs to Know, and Lessons Learned in the First Year of New Disclosure Rules.
