SF Bar Explains FCPA Recent Developments

On Thursday, January 27, the Bar Association of San Francisco will offer Recent Developments in Enforcement and Compliance to update practitioners on the FCPA.

It will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco.

Christopher Steskal, a partner at Fenwick & West LLP, will moderate a discussion about the following topics: why the FCPA is a big deal; what the regulators want; how to keep your CEO our of jail and your company out of the headlines; why you might be doing business with a "foreign official" and not know it; how to tackle the compliance challenges faced by technology companies; and how not to be evil while doing business in Asia and Africa.

Among the panelists are Tracy Davis, assistant regional director, SEC, San Francisco; Anna Itoi, managing counsel, Ethics & Compliance, Google Inc.; and Adam Reeves, chief, Securities Fraud Section, U.S. Attorney's Office, San Francisco.
