Seminar Will Review Mechanic's Liens

The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) is offering a CLE program titled A Primer on Connecticut Mechanic's Lien From Filing to Foreclosure.

The seminar will take place on Monday, February 11 starting at 6 p.m. at the CBA Law Center, 30 Bank Street, New Britain, CT.

This seminar will serve as an introduction to mechanic's liens in Connecticut. Attendees will: learn how to properly prepare and file a mechanic's lien and the important deadlines to follow; find out how this statutory lien must survive scrutiny from all those whom it seeks to subordinate, and ultimately, how it must be foreclosed. A mechanic's lien is subject to numerous procedural and substantive challenges, even before the lienor has an opportunity to prosecute its mechanic's lien foreclosure action to judgment. Attendees will learn how to perfect a lien to ensure that the remedy of foreclosure is available.

The program co-chairs are Kirkandre D. Durrant, McCarter & English LLP, and Loni S. Gardner, Murtha Cullina LLP.
