Seminar Will Outline Securities Law For Non-Securities Lawyers

The Business Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) is planning a CLE seminar titled Securities for Non-Securities Lawyers.

The program will take place on Tuesday, July 17 from noon to 1 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street, San Francisco. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.

This program will provide a summary of private placement securities law considerations, intended primarily for attorneys who do not regularly practice in that area. In addition to a general survey of the legal environment, the speakers will present a few scenarios in which securities laws may be invoked by clients wishing to raise capital, and discuss how to best help clients negotiate with prospective investors, prepare appropriate disclosure and transaction documents, and comply with post-closing filing requirements.

Speakers will be Greg Beattie, MBV Law, LLP, and Oscar Escobar, Niesar Curls Bartling and Whyte, LLP.
