Seminar Will Outline E-Discovery Best Practices

Effective Electronic Discovery: Best Practices, Ethical and Practical Advice is the title of a CLE seminar scheduled by the New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA).

The program will take place on Tuesday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the NYCLA Home of Law, 14 Vesey Street, New York City.

A panel of experts will provide a practical guide to establishing best practices and conducting electronic discovery, including a discussion of attorneys' ethical duties and standards of care in the electronic age.

Some of the topics to be addressed include: pre-planning for cost effective discovery; gathering electronically stored information; processing electronically stored information for review; reviewing processed information, including understanding the inefficiencies of traditional methods of review, privilege, waiver of privilege, inadvertent disclosure and conflicts of law; 2006 Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Draft Federal Rule of Evidence 502.
