Seminar Will Outline Civility Rules For Illinois Attorneys

The Illinois State Bar Association will present a CLE seminar titled Professionalism and Civility Among Illinois Lawyers.

The program will take place on Thursday, January 24 from 1 to 5:15 p.m. at Eastland Suites & Conference Center, 1801 Eastland Drive, Bloomington, IL.

Among the discussion topics will be: The Role and Work of the Commission on Professionalism of the Supreme Court of Illinois; The Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct: Recalling and Fully Understanding What Is Expected of Attorneys Who Practice Law in Illinois; The Expectations of the Supreme Court of Illinois; The Obligations of Attorneys in Civil Litigation, and the Role of Judges in Policing Professionalism and Civility.

The program coordinator is the Hon. Michael J. Chmiel, 22nd Illinois Judicial Circuit. Among the speakers are Cheryl I. Niro, executive director, Commission on Professionalism of Supreme Court of Illinois; Mary F. Andreoni, Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, and the Hon. Lloyd A. Karmeier, Illinois Supreme Court.
