Seminar Will Explore Key Issues In Negotiating Office Leases

Massachusetts CLE is offering a CLE seminar titled Negotiating Office Leases.

The program will take place on Wednesday, February 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MCLE Conference Center, 10 Winter Place, Boston.

Discussion topics will include: the difference between rentable and usable space when measuring office space; how to deal with the build out of office space; how to determine the commencement date when office space is being built-out; how to address tax and operating cost escalation provisions; how to allocate maintenance and repair obligations between landlord and tenant; how to negotiate fire and eminent domain clauses; subordination and nondisturbance agreements are important for both landlord and tenant, and how to modify and negotiate default clauses in light of the Supreme Judicial Court's Wesson and Cummings decisions.
