Seminar Will Examine Subprime Crisis

The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America is offering a CLE seminar titled Subprime Lender Liability and Enforcement - A Comprehensive Look at Congressional and DOJ Investigations.

The program, co-sponsored by Patton Boggs LLP and Navigant Consulting, will take place on Tuesday, November 6 at the Cornell Club, 6 East 44th Street, New York City. Time is to be announced.

The featured speaker will be DeMaurice F. Smith, Patton Boggs. He will attempt to answer question including: What will be the Congressional response to the Sub Prime Mortgage crisis? Will my company be the target of a Congressional Investigation? What is the focus of the SEC, the Department of Justice and other regulators as it relates to my company and our executives? What are our liability exposures for class actions, shareholder derivative litigation, or investigations by the SEC or U.S. Attorney's Office? How do we effectively manage collateral investigations or litigation matters by federal, state, or private parties? What should our Audit Committee do (or what should they have done) in response to our potential liability and exposure? What are our SOX, audit and compliance obligations in light of this issue?
