Seminar Will Examine Pressures Faced By Today's General Counsel

The Corporate Counsel Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation has scheduled a CLE seminar titled General Counsel Under Attack: Is the Company's Top Legal Position Losing Its Luster?

The program will take place on Tuesday, October 23 from 6 to 7 p.m. at a Palo Alto, CA location to be announced.

A recent Wall Street Journal article highlighted the difficulty companies are having in recruiting general counsel because of the mounting pressure and scrutiny placed on the company's "top" lawyer. Corporate scandals have had an impact on legal departments of UnitedHealth, Hewlett Packard, McAfee, Monster Worldwide, and others. In an interactive roundtable format, general counsels and the individuals who represent them will discuss the changing professional landscape for today's general counsels.

Specific speakers are to be announced.
