The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Litigation and Law in the Muslim-American Community.
The program will take place on Wednesday, November 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the LACBA Conference Center, 281 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
The course presents an overview of the misconceptions of the Muslim American Community in Los Angeles and the need for understanding and bridge building by the Los Angeles legal community. Practical study of attorney contact with the Muslim Community is overviewed with successful strategies that have been employed: what it is to be Muslim in Los Angeles; how working with this community in areas of civil law, dissolution, civil rights, immigration, criminal law, work place discrimination and other areas is unique, and the internalization and training processes that turns persons into terrorists culminating in the "Mind of the Terrorist."
The speaker is Mohamad Khatiboo, Westwood College.
