Seminar Will Examine Evidence RulesFrom A Nevada Lawyer's Perspective

The State Bar of Nevada is planning a CLE seminar titled Advanced Evidence.

The program will take place on Wednesday, August 8 at the National Judicial College, Reno, NV, and on Friday, August 10 at a Las Vegas site to be determined. Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The speakers will be the Hon. Amy B. Karan, 11th Judicial District, Miami, FL, and the Hon. David Gersten, 3rd District Court of Appeals, Miami, FL.

After completing the class, attendees can expect to be able to: distinguish the differences between Nevada evidence law and the federal rules; recognize and make appropriate objections in the areas of character, impeachment, expert testimony and hearsay; perfect the record for appeal; summarize the law's evolution from ancient civilizations to modern-day legal systems; recognize and address ethical dilemmas that will be encountered, and describe how cases are determined.
