The State Bar of Texas is planning its Fifth Annual Advanced Business Law seminar.
The program will take place on Thursday and Friday, October 25 and 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Houston. Sessions run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on day one and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on day two.
Panelists will address topics such as: Current National Legal Opinion Issues; Hot Topics in Insurance That Every Business Lawyer Should Be Aware Of; E-Commerce/Technology Update for Business Lawyers; Duties of In-House Counsel; UCC Update: Article 9; Trends in Equity Compensation in Corporations, Partnerships and LLCs; Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 Update; M&A Negotiation Trends and Practice; Corporate Internal Investigations, and Update of Appellate Decisions in the Securities Area.
The course director is Elizabeth S. (Beth) Miller, Baylor University School of Law. Among the speakers are David R. Keyes, Winstead P.C.; Irene Kosturakis, chief IP counsel, BMC Software; Cullen M. (Mike) Godfrey, general counsel, Texas A&M University System, and Paul Hodnefield, associate general counsel, Corporation Service Company.
