Seminar Will Discuss How To Meet New 'Green' Requirements In Construction

The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Green Building - The Future of the Construction Industry.

The program will take place on Wednesday, February 6 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the LACBA Conference Center, 281 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles. Registration begins at 11:45 a.m.

The increasing popularity of green design and construction and the potential for inclusion of "LEED" certification requirements in construction contracts and development agreements present opportunities and challenges for construction and real estate attorneys, public officials and contractors/designers. This panel will first address how state and local climate change policies are beginning to generate green building requirements, and then outline best practices for incorporating these requirements into construction contracts and obtaining "LEED" certification.

The speaker will be Alice Kaswan, University of San Francisco School of Law.
