Seminar To Review Developments In Commercial Arbitration

The New York City Bar Association is planning a CLE seminar titled Commercial Arbitration: Recent Developments, Emerging Trends & Future Issues.

The program will take place on Friday, November 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York City.

This program addresses developing case law and practice trends in commercial arbitral processes. Topics include: Increasingly frequent attempts to resist arbitration or otherwise affect it through applications for court intervention, including challenges to arbitrability, arbitrator removal requests, applications for injunctive relief and review of awards; consumer issues affecting the development of arbitration law; the possibility of having an arbitrator rule on an emergency application even before an arbitral panel is appointed, and ethical issues such as the consequences of non-disclosure of an arbitrator's conflict.

The program chair is Nancy Nelson, senior fellow, International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution.
