Seminar Focus: International Transactions

The DC Bar Association will present a CLE seminar titled The ABCs of International Business Transactions.

The program will take place on Thursday, October 18 from 6 to 9:15 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.

This course will focus on the legal fundamentals of business transactions that involve parties located in different countries. The speaker will discuss drafting considerations in the international agreement, practical considerations for lawyers representing a party in an international transaction and applicable laws such as the UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods, European Union Contracting Regime, and UNIDROIT principles.

Among the topics to be considered are international arbitration, the Foreign Service Immunities Act and principles of jurisdiction in international civil litigation.
