Scott A. Schlager has joined Locke Lord’s Boston office as a Partner in the Real Estate and Finance and Litigation Practice Groups. Schlager’s diverse real estate acquisition/disposition, finance and complex litigation experience combined with a strong network in the real estate sector will enhance the Firm’s real estate capabilities across the United States.
Prior to joining Locke Lord, Schlager was a partner at Nathanson & Goldberg, a boutique Boston-based law firm focusing on real estate and commercial litigation. An esteemed trial and transactional lawyer, he concentrates his practice on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, finance, leasing and complex litigation. Throughout his career, Schlager has represented the rights and interests of lenders and investors as well as owners and operators of commercial properties. Known for his in-depth legal knowledge and exceptional negotiation skills, he has handled numerous intricate transactional matters for clients while also advocating on behalf of them inside court.
“Scott’s litigation and national transactional real estate experience coupled with his robust commercial network and entrepreneurial zeal make him an excellent strategic addition to our Boston office,” said Christine McCay, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Boston office. “He will work closely with our Litigation and Corporate Practices, and his unique skill set allows him to also provide distressed real estate guidance and drafting support for our Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Special Servicing Practice Group as well.”
“Having worked closely with Locke Lord throughout my career, I am thrilled to join the Firm’s preeminent, full-service national platform where I see plentiful opportunities to expand my practice,” said Schlager. “I look forward to embracing Locke Lord’s collaborative culture and leveraging our collective resources to continue delivering an unparalleled level of service for clients.”
